Skincare Hacks

The sunshine is back! This means picnics in the park, chilled rose, long walks in the sunshine and glowing, gorgeous skin. I know I’m ready for a warmer weather, and my skin needs some vitamin D after the winter! Here are three super easy skincare hacks ways to get your skin ready to GLOW all summer long.

Baking Soda

Random, right? But chances are, you’ve got a box of this hanging out in your pantry or fridge. Baking soda is not only a key ingredient for baking scrumptious cookies, it’s also an amazing natural (and super affordable!) exfoliator! Add a teaspoon of baking soda to your cleanser, and scrub gently in tiny circular motions for about a minute, and rinse. Follow with your favorite moisturizer. Your skin will thank you.

Rosehip Oil

You might need to take a trip to the wellness or natural foods store for this one but trust me babe, you’ll be glad you did. Rosehip oil is a lovely, non-comedogenic oil safe for your whole body (meaning it won’t break you out!) For an extra luxe, moisturizing night treatment, mix a few drops of rosehip oil in with your night cream, or wear it by itself as a moisturizer. Plus the comforting floral scent will give you sweet, rosy dreams.

Carrot Seed Oil

First off, I will warn you that the Carrot Seed oil has… a bit of an intense scent. It might not be my favorite fragrance, but I tough this one out because I noticed real change after just one use. Seriously. I mix a couple drops of carrot seed oil with a few drops of rosehip oil before bed about twice a week! This oil is a miracle-worker on sun damaged skin, and it also works wonders on hyperpigmentation (aka scars and dark spots). It contains beta carotene, the antioxidant which gives carrots their orange hue, which works to even skin tone and helps speed up cell regeneration.

With all that gorgeous sunshine coming our way, it’s especially important to remember your SPF!  After exfoliating, your skin cells are fresh, fragile and undamaged. What good is it to give your skin all of this love, if you don’t protect it afterwards? Now get out there and glow!
